Here’s a link to a PDF of a letter from the chair of the Mississippi River Parkway Commission of Minnesota in which he asks Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton to impose a statewide moratorium on new silica sand mining operations along Minnesota Scenic Byways. The political situation in Minnesota is a little different than here in Wisconsin, so I give this idea better odds on that side of the river.
