About 30 people gathered Monday afternoon to block the front entrance to the Modern Transport rail loading terminal in Winona, continuing a growing protest against frac sand mining that began last week.
A blue uncovered semi truck halted in front of the group at about 1 p.m., and soon after its wheels jerked to a stop about six additional trucks arrived, creating a line that stretched down Second Street near Huff Street. Onlookers snapped photos and a handful of state and regional media documented the scene.
